Every week we add new inventory to our online kimono store! This week we focused on added to our kimono store a selection of goods in demand; yukata and juban. Yukata are popular in the warmer weather, and are a favorite for people to wear to various spring festivals. Yukata are an informal type of Japanese kimono, and are made of a cotton print. Hanhaba obi are typically worn with yukata. Over 15 juban were added to the site that feature a wide variety of designs and are made mostly from a light weight easy to care for cotton, or luxurious silk. Juban are worn under Japanese kimono, and when worn properly the collar of the juban and a hunt of the ends of the sleeves are visible out from under the kimono. Juban serve an important role in that they can add to the warmth of a kimono if needed, but most importantly they help keep you modest and protect the inside of your kimono from the sweat and oils naturally on your skin. The best way to keep your kimono clean is to prevent it from getting dirty in the first place, and the juban help protect the inside of the kimono.
Be certain to check back each week for our newest traditional kimono, obi, haori, and more!
